With the "Western medicine to the east" as the background,it regards the traditional Chinese medicine of Suzhou in this period of the Republic of China as the research object in this thesis.At the same time,Chinese and Western medicine was developing from isolation to confrontation,then turned to adaptation of the traditional Chinese medicine.In addition,it studied the process of Suzhou Chinese medicine during this period,and its internal and external factors and the impact,so as to trace the development of traditional Chinese medicine in Suzhou during this period.During the Republic of China,the adaptation process of traditional Chinese medicine in Suzhou was divided into four stages: awakening,confrontation,integration and adaptation.Since the late Qing Dynasty,the tide of Western learning has made the Chinese people pay more and more attention to the western natural science and political system.Suzhou traditional Chinese medicine has a long history,but this period of the Suzhou economy declined.Also the traditional Chinese medicine industry also faced contradictions,seriously hampering the development of traditional Chinese medicine in Suzhou,especially after the rooting of the West Hospital.Western medicine in the hospital system,diagnostic methods,medical equipment and other aspects of the powerful advantages made people who studied Suzhou Chinese medicine begin to awaken,and to carry out their own reform.After the Westernization Movement,the thought of the Chinese Communist Party was applied to all aspects.Chinese and Western medicine as a medicine is no essential difference,but the science and technology behind the cultural background is different.In this case,the advanced intellectuals first proposed the way of Chinese and Western blending.For instance,Suzhou Chinese doctors Wang Honghan and Gu Furu applied the theory to practice,trying to blend Chinese medicine with Western medicine to benefit the people.Western medicine was gradually accepted by the masses,the government also vigorously fostered the Western medicine,making the status of Chinese and Western medicine more and more unequal.Until the Ministry of Education leaked the case of Chinese medicine and "abolished traditional Chinese medicine case",the conflict between Chinese and Western medicine broke out to the vertex.Suzhou Chinese medicine community actively participated in the strugglethroughout the country,through the establishment of organizations and the founding of the magazine to defend the status of Chinese medicine.In the confrontation Chinese medicine and Western medicine,we gradually realized that we must put aside the portal,besides that,we needed to establish Chinese medicine organizations and hospital system.So we set up the Medical Association Wu County,YI Zhongshe and other Chinese medicine organizations,and integrated the advantages of Western medicine and Chinese medicine.Except that,we established Suzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.This combination of Western medicine and Chinese medicine for the scientificization of Chinese medicine has laid a social foundation and organizational basis.In order to cultivate more Chinese medicine talents,Suzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine set up Suzhou National Medical School.In the process of adaptation,the advantages of Chinese and Western medicine is combined from the aspects of theory and practice.It is obvious that it is a great success of self-adaptation in Chinese medicine,from the preparation of teaching materials,Disciplines,clinical practice to scientific research and other aspects of the Chinese medicine.
