BackgroundCOPD is a common respiratory disease in China.According to the survey,the incidence rate of COPD was 8?2%in men over fourty years old,males(1 2?4%)higher than females(5?1%),village(8?8%)higherth anurban(7?8%),smokers(1 3?2%)higherthannonsmokers(5?2%).COPD is currently the fourth leading cause of death.According to a study published by the WHO,by 2 0 2 0,COPD will be the fifth highest economic burden disease in the world and the third global cause of death.Withtheen vironmentalpollution,agingandothersocialproblemscontinuetoincrease,thein cidenceandmortalityrateofCOPDwillcontinue to show an upward trend.COPD is a common respiratory disease which can be prevented and treated.COPD treatment by Western Medicine adopts the GOLD classification method.It can not reverse the progressive decline of lung function and the long-term curative effect is unclear.COPD treatment by Traditional Chinese Medicine plays an important position on the ease of personal and social burden.By studying the treatment medication rules of the modern famous old doctors of TCM,looking for the fe asible ideas and treatment plans,plays a significance in the effective prevention and treatment for COPD and can guide the clinical treatment plan to draw lessons from.ObjectiveThis research is based on collecting and sorting the cases of COPD by modern famous old doctors of TCM,establishing the database of medical records and analysing by the methods of modern data statistics and computer systems in order to summarize the COPD treatment medications rules.And with giving examples of clinical cases,hoping that the results of this study can be contributing for the clinical treatment of COPD,to prevent acute exacerbations,to improve the quality of life of patients,to reduce the individual and socioeconomic burden with COPD,and to provide clinical reference for improving the future treatment of COPD.MethodBy collecting and sorting the cases of COPD(1949-present)by modern famous old doctors of TCM,establishing the database of COPD cases library.Summed up the symptoms of various medical cases,syndromes,medication and other information on the case of medical records which the frequency and clustering analysis of symptoms and syndromes of COPD were carried out by using statistical methods of frequency and clustering.Based on these da.ta,combined with theoretical analysis and discussion,to explore the characteristics of TCM treatment of COPD and the rules of law.ResultBy reading and searching the series of "Hundred years of China hundred clinical Chinese Medicine doctors collection" a total of thirty-three medical books were retrieved to have COPD cases and specific prescriptions of TCM records;in the series of "Hundred years of modern China hundred Chinese Medicine doctors collection",a total of 10 medical books were retrieved to record.The China Knowledge Resource integrated Database(CNKI),the China Academic Journalsl Full-text Database(CJFD),the Wanfang Data Resource System etc.,a total of 111 articles were retrieved to meet the criteria of incorporating into the standard of medical records database;a total of 58 articles were retrieved to have COPD experience recorded but no medical records and specific drug records or incomplete documented.A total number of 225 medical records and a total number of 2 2 5 prescriptions were collected in this study.The total number of different kinds of drug used was 275,and the total frequency of drug used was 2,960.The average drug used frequency was 10?76 times.ThemaindrugeffectsusedbythemodernfamousolddoctorsfortreatmentofCOPDar ethedrugsofresolvingphlegmandrelievingcoughandasthma,thedrugsoftonificati onandthedrugsofhealt-clearing,assitedwiththedrugsofeliminatingdampnessand diuresis,thedrugsofpromotingbloodcirculationforremovingbloodstasis,thedru gsofregulatingqi-flowing,andthedrugsofwarminginterior;thedrugnatureismain lywarmdrugs,colddrgusandneutraldrugs;thedrugflavorismainlysweetdrugs,then bitterdrugsandacriddrugs;the drug meridian is mainly lung and spleen,followered by heart and kidney.In combined with medical records concluded that the results of statistical analysis of COPD can be summed up the key symptoms of COPD treatment by modern famous old doctors according to the order are:asthma,cough,chest tightness,breathlessness when moving,cannot supine,anorexia,edema,white sputum,sticky sputum,shortness of breath,palpitations,abudeant sputum,cyanosis,yellow sputum,difficulty in coughing sputum,fatigueand sweating;the key drugs according to the order are:Poria,Astragalus,Prulnus armenica,Pinellia ternata,Citrus reticulata,Licorice,Cortex mori,Perilla,Schisandra,Atractylodes,Ephedra,Ramulus cinnamomi,Radix ophiopogonis,Lepidii apetali semen.The five major syndromes according to order are the syndrome of deficiency of both lung and spleen,the syndrome of phlegm-heat obstructing lung,the syndrome of phlegm-damp amassing in lung,the syndrome of phlegm and blood stasis obstructing lung and the syndrome of qi deficiency of lung and kidney.The key drugs of the syndrome of deficiency of both lung and spleen according to order are:Poria,Atractylodes,Astragalus,Licorice,Prunus armenica,Pinellia scutellariae,Radix pseudostellariae,Salvia miltiorrhiza;the key drugs of the syndrome of qi deficiency of lung and kidney according to order are:Astragalus,Radix rehmanniae preparata,Schisandra,Pinellia ternata,Citrus reticulata,Radix ophiopogonis,Fructus trichosanthis,Prunus armenica,Radix pseudostellariae,Radix scutellariae,Cortex mori,Poria,Dioscorea polystachya,Codonopsis pilosula,Angelica sinensis.ConclusionAccording to the results of this study,the basic COPD treatment medication rules of the Modern Famous Old Doctors can be summed up:?
