Objective: The relationship between T?4(Thymosin ?4)and the metastasis of the mechanism in non-small cell lung cancer is not clear. In this study,we detected the expression of T?4 in the pathologic tissues of non-small cell lung cancer in the protein level. The relationship between T?4 and clinicopathological characters, the relationship between T?4 and serum tumor markers, the relationship between T?4 and E-cadherin,the relationship between T?4 and ?-catenin,the relationship between T?4 and VEGF expression, which will provide a theoretical basis for T?4-mediated pathogenesis of non-small cell lung cancer,it is also important for non-small cell lung cancer to provide new ideas for diagnosis and treatment. But also a scientific basis for the future for diagnosis, treatment and prognosis in non-small cell lung cancerMethods: The expression of T?4,E-cadherin,Vimentin,?-catenin and VEGF were detected by immunohistochemistry(IHC)in 124 cases of non-small cell lung cancer and corresponding adjacent tissues.Further analysis the clinical pathology characters(including age, sex, pathological type,TNM stage, tumor differentiation, recurrence and lymph node metastasis).Analysis the expression and correlation between T?4 and the serum levels of CEA,NSE,CYFRA21-1,the expression and the correlation between T?4 and E-cadherin,Vimentin,?-catenin and VEGF and so on.SPSS 20.0 as the statistical tool was used to analyze the results. Results: 1.The expression of T?4 in cancer tissues was higher than that in normal tissues(70.9% vs29.1%),and the expression of Vimentin,?-catenin and VEGF were higher cancer tissues than in normal tissues(P <0.01).The expression of E-cadherin was significantly higher normal tissue than that in non-small cell lung cancer tissues(P<0.01).2.The expression of T?4 in non-small cell lung cancer was related to TNM stage(P = 0.031),tumor differentiation(P = 0.035),lymph node metastasis(P = 0.049)and recurrence(P = 0.03).There was no significant difference in age(P = 0.151),gender(P = 0.07),and pathological type(P = 0.134).3.The expression of T?4 in non-small cell lung cancer is correlated with CEA(r = 0.523,P<0.01),but there is no significant difference between T?4 and NSE(r = 0.32,P> 0.05)or CYFRA21-1(r = 0.133,P> 0.05).4.The expression of T?4 was negatively correlated with E-cadherin(P <0.01),and positively correlated with the expression of Vimentin,?-catenin and VEGF(P <0.01).Conclusion:1.The expression level of T?4 in non-small cell lung cancer was higher than that normal lung tissues.2.In clinicopathological,The expression of T?4 was closely related to TNM stage, tumor differentiation, lymph node metastasis and recurrence in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).T?4 is associated with the metastasis and development of non-small cell lung cancer.3.In non-small cell lung cancer, the expression level of T?4 was related to serum tumor marker CEA,but not to NSE and CYFRA21-1.4.The expression of T?4 was correlated with E-cadherin,Vimentin,?-catenin and VEGF.It is suggest that the mechanism of T?4 in tumor may be related to the above proteins in non-small cell lung cancer.
