Objective: In this study,we investigated the expression of STAT3,E-cadherin and vimentin in patients with non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)in Han,Tibetan and Hui nationalities, and explored the correlation between them and clinicopathological characteristics, the role of EMT in the pathogenesis and invasion and metastasis of NSCLC in different nationalities, and provided evidence for genetic differences in the pathogenesis of lung cancer.Materials and Methods: From January 2016 to June 2018,30 cases of NSCLC were collected, including 12 cases of Han,8 cases of Tibetan and 10 cases of Hui.The expressions of STAT3,E-cadherin and Vimentin in 30 cases of non-small cell lung cancer were detected by immunohistochemical qualitative analysis and panoramic tissue-cell quantitative analysis. The correlation between the differential expressions of STAT3,E-cadherin and Vimentin in different nationalities and basic clinicopathological characteristics of patients was analyzed by comparing the clinical data.Result: 1.Case Composition: Due to the limited data collected from ethnic and regional differences,8 cases of Tibetan squamous cell carcinoma were included in 30 patients with non-small cell lung cancer who underwent surgical treatment. In this study, the incidence of lung squamous cell carcinoma was predominant among Tibetans.2.Positive rate of tissue expression: In 30 cases of NSCLC,the positive rates of STAT3 protein in Han,Tibetan and Hui nationalities were 39.42%,41.95%,50.23%,meanwhile,E-cadherin was 72.16%,47.75%,84.23%,and Vimentin was 61.42%,77.27%,54.50%,respectively.The expression of STAT3,E-cadherin and Vimentin may not be correlated.3.Difference analysis: Qualitative immunohistochemical analysis suggested that the expression of E-cadherin and Vimentin in Han,Tibetan and Hui nationalities had significance difference(P < 0.05);meanwhile,panoramic tissue cell quantitative analysis also suggested that the expression of E-cadherin in Han,Tibetan and Hui nationalities had statistical significance(P < 0.05);and the expression ofSTAT3 in different nationalities had no statistical significance(P > 0.05).4.Correlation analysis of clinicopathological features: In patients with non-small cell lung cancer, the expression of STAT3 protein was correlated with the pathological typing(P < 0.05),but not with other clinicopathological features(P > 0.05).Conclusion: 1.The expression of E-cadherin and Vimentin may be different in patients with NSCLC in Han,Tibetan and Hui nationalities.EMT may play a different role in invasion mechanism of patients with NSCLC in Han,Tibetan and Hui nationalities.2.In NSCLC,the expression of STAT3 protein in pathologically typed adenocarcinomas, squamous cell carcinomas may be correlated.3.In NSCLC tumors, the expression of STAT3,E-cadherin and Vimentin was not significantly correlated.
