Study On The Curative Effect Of Xiaozhongzhitong Plaster In Treating Swelling And Pain After The Surgery Of The Femoral Intertrochanteric Fractures

ObjectiveTo study the effect of Xiaozhongzhitong Plaster in relieving swelling and pain on the local soft tissue after intertrochanteric fractures.Evaluating the clinical efficacy and safety of Xiaozhongzhitong Plaster by analyzing the clinical observation results to provide an objective clinical basis for the external treatment of traditional Chinese medicine in the application of pain and swelling after the fracture.MethodsWe chose old fracture patients who were hospitalized from Apr.1st.2016 to Jan.30th.2017 and recived operation in the secondDepartment of orthopedics of Guangdong Province Troditional Chinese Medicine Hospital.They were divided randomly into two groups:therapy group and control group.The therapy group on the basis of conventional treatment on the first day after surgery to give Xiaozhongzhitong Plaster,while the control group was treated only routinely without any external administration.The circumference difference,pain condition,degree of swelling and ecchymosis before treatment and after treatment were measured and recorded after operation.Laboratory indicators include WBC and hs-CRP were measured and recorded before therapy and after therapy respectively.Adverse drug reactions were also observed during the study.Then data analysis and evaluation of clinical efficacy were conducted.ResultsIn this study,60 elderly patients with intertrochanteric fractures(30 patients in the treatment group and 30 in the control group)were enrolled.Among them,18 were male patients(8 in the treatment group,10 in the control group)and 42 were male patients(22 in the treatment group,20 in the control group).The mean age was 83.97±5.09,the minimum was 68 years,and the maximum was 94 years.The baseline data were compared between the two groups(P>0.05)by comparing the age,sex ratio,fracture site and classification,time-cost and anesthesia.Between the groups were compared by the independent samples t test,while group comparison before and after treatment paired samples t test statistical analysis.There were significant differences(P<0.05)between the two groups of patients VAS score after treatment,and the difference in circumference was also significantly different(P<0.05)after treatment(P<0.05).The VAS scores and circumference difference of two groups before and after treatment were significantly different(P<0.05).Statistical analysis by rank sum test,there was a significant difference(P<0.05)in pain relief between the two groups,and the degree of swelling and ecchymosis was different(P<0.05)after treatment.For the monitoring of inflammatory indicators,there was significant difference(P<0.05)in WBC and CRP of the two groups before and after treatment by t test comparative analysis,but no significant difference after treatment between groups(P>0.05).All patients in the treatment group did not appear rash,skin rash and other allergic reactions.ConclusionXiaozhongzhitong Plaster has a good effect in the older fractures,can significantly improve the local soft tissue swelling and pain without adverse reactions,which give full play to Advantages of Chinese medicine in the rehabilitation of fractures after operation,so it is worth in the clinical promotion.
