Objective: To explore the significance of serum FABP4 changes in the patients with GDM,and to study the relationships between FABP4 and blood flow resistance of uterine spiral artery and umbilical artery.Methods:Select singleton pregnancy women in out-patient clinic which were systemic checked and diliveried without complication.Adopt the methods of case-control study.The research group included 30 pregnant women with GDM,The control group included 30 normal pregnant women.Radioimmunoassay was used to examine the serum levels of FABP4 in pregnant women of two groups.In all patients,the pulse index(Pl),resistance index(RI),ratio of peak systolic to least diastolic flow velocity(S/D)of uterine spiral artery and umbilical artery were detected by color doppler monitor.At the same time placenta of the two groups were taken for pathological examination.Results:The everage level of serum FABP4 was 36.67±1.94 ng/ml in the research group,21.76±0.93 ng/ml in the control,the difference was significant(P<0.05).The serum levels of FABP4 were correlated with the S/D of the uterine artery in patients of GDM.In normal pregnant women,the serum levels of FABP4 were not correlated with the S/D?PI?RI of uterine spiral artery and umbilical artery.In GDM group,there was a positive correlation between the incidence of placental villous dysplasia,the thickening of the dry hair arteriole and the capillary filling of the mesenchyme,and the serum FABP4 concentration.Conclusion:1.The levels of FABP4 in serum of pregnant women with GDM were significantly increased,suggesting that fatty acid binding protein 4 may be involved in the pathophysiology of GDM.2.FABP4 level and uterine spiral artery S/D value PI value RI value has significant correlation in GDM patients,suggesting that FABP4 may affect the uterine spiral arteriolar resistance and be involved in the pathogenesis of GDM.3.The levels of FABP4 in patients with GDM was correlated with the incidence of abnormal placental pathology,suggesting that FABP4 may promote the proliferation of vascular endothelial cells and increased vascular resistance,and participate in the GDM.
