Objective To investigate the changes and clinical significance of soluble ST2(sST2)in patients who has chronic heart failure(CHF).Methods A total of 100 patients with CHF from The Cerebro-Cardiovascular Disease Hospital of Ningxia Medical University were included in this study(CHF group),and 30 healthy persons were used as control group.All patients with heart failure were in accordance with the diagnostic criteria of the 2014 Chinese diagnostic and therapeutic guidelines for heart failure.CHF group was divided into heart function?grade group with 35 patients,? grade group with 32 patients,? grade group with 33 patients,in accordance with New York Heart Association(NYHA).And CHF group was also divided into left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)<40% grade(n=52)and LVEF?40% grade(n=48)group in accordance with LVEF level of patients.The plasma sST2 and brain natriuretic peptide(BNP)levels were detected by ELISA.The values of LVEF,left ventricular end-diastolic diameter(LVDd),left ventricular systolic diameter(LVDs)and left ventricular fractional shortening(LVFS)were detected by echocardiography.The correlation of sST2,NYHA classification,BNP and index of echocardiography was analyzed between groups.Results(1)Compared with control group,the levels of sST2 were significantly higher in NYHA?,?,?group(3.00±0.08;3.06±0.12;3.08±0.10 VS 2.91±0.13)(P<0.05);(2)Compared with control group,the levels of sST2 were significantly higher in HFpEF group and HFrEF group(3.02±0.09;3.07±0.12 VS 2.91±0.13)(P<0.05).(3)Pearson correlation analysis showed that there were positive correlations between the plasma levels of sST2 and BNP,NYHA,LVDd and LVDs(r=0.454?0.480?0.462?0.454,P < 0.01).The plasma level of sST2 was negatively correlated with LVEF and LVFS(r =-0.409?-0.396,P<0.01).Conclusion(1)The patients who are with chronic heart failure have a higher level of plasma sST2.The level of sST2 was significantly correlated with the severity of heart failure,it had positive correlation with NYHA.(2)Plasma sST2 levels had positive correlation with BNP,LVDd,LVDs and negative correlation with LVEF,LVFS.(3)Plasma sST2 can be used as a supplementary means of echocardiography and BNP,and it may has potential clinical value.
