Objective:Study the effect of age on transurethral plasmakinetic enucleation of the prostate(PKEP)in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH),To the efficacy and safety evaluate in different age patients underwent transurethral plasmakinetic enucleation of the prostate. Methods:Review of June 2014 to May 2016 underwent transurethral plasmakinetic enucleation of the prostate hyperplasia patients, the patients were divided into two groups: younger group, aged 60 to 75 years old,30 cases, elder group, aged over 75 years,30 cases.Collected 1 weeks before surgery, after 2 weeks and after 6 months the International Prostate Symptom Score(IPSS),maximum urinary flow rate(Qmax),residual urine volume(PVR)and quality of life score(QOL)and two groups of operation time, intraoperative blood loss, resected tissue weight, postoperative hospital stay, tube the time after operation, surgery standard operation procedure.SPSS 19.0 statistical software was used for processing the data, count data was said by ratio,chi-square test was used for the comparasion between the two groups;the measurement data which obeys normal distribution are expressed as mean±standard deviation,t test analysis was used for the comparisons between the two groups;on the contrary, the data was expressed as median±inter-quartile range, rank sum test was used for the comparasion between the two groups. It is considered that the difference between the two groups is statistically significant if P <0.05.Results:1?The incidence of urinary retention(P=0.038 P < 0.05)in elder group(aged over 75years)was significantly higher in group, and there was significant difference between the two groups;2?The postoperative hospital stay in the younger and the elder group was 5.1±1.4 and6.2±2.1 P=0.02,the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P <0.05);3?There were significant differences in IPSS,Qmax,PVR,QOLbetween the younger group and the elder group before and after operation(P < 0.05)Conclusion:Transurethral plasmakinetic resection of the prostate for patients of different ages had no significant difference, the exact efficacy and safety. In short, transurethral plasmakinetic resection of the prostate is a safe and effective treatment for elderly patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia.
