| Objective:In this study,we intend to investigate the normal range of nasal resistance in adults in Hunan by measuring the nasal resistance values of normal population;Through research VAS score of patients with different degrees of nasal obstruction and it’s nasal resistance value,to investigate the correlation between nasal resistance value and VAS score,to provide an objective basis for nasal function in this area of population detection,and provide a reference for the normal value of nasal resistance and the establishment of a unified standard for quantifying the severity of nasal obstruction.Methods:Collect 354 adult patients or physical examination people who come from Departement of Otorhinolaryngology of The Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanhua University in Hunan area(male 214 cases,female 140cases).Of all the samples measure nasal resistance by the British company GM NR6 Rhinomanometer,use active anterior nasal manometry when the nasal pressure difference is 150Pa and record inspiratory resistance value(LRins,RRins),expiratory resistance value(LRexp,RRexp),total resistance value(TRins,TRexp).Select normal sample of 159 cases(male 95 cases,female64 cases)for normal nasal resistance value;select VAS score divided into mild,moderate and severe group of patients with a total of 195 cases(male 119cases,female 76 cases)for nasal resistance detection,to investigate the correlation between nasal resistance value and VAS score.Results:In the nasal pressure difference 150Pa:(1)the normal population:(1)the total nasal resistance value(KPa/L·s):TRinsin male and female were 0.22±0.07、0.22±0.06,TRexpin male and female were 0.23±0.07、0.23±0.06.After statistical analysis,except the right expiratory resistance,there was no significant difference in the value of unilateral inspiratory,left expiratory nasal resistance and total nasal resistance between the different gender of the normal population(p>0.05).(2)the different age groups of total nasal resistance value(KPa/L·s):TRinsin 1835 years old group,3650 years old group and 50 years old group were 0.22±0.07,0.22±0.06 and 0.21±0.07,TRexpin1835 years old group,3650 years old group and 50 years old group were0.24±0.07,0.23±0.06 and 0.22±0.06.After statistical analysis,there was no significant difference in the value of unilateral inspiratory and expiratory nasal resistance and total nasal resistance in all age groups(p>0.05),but the nasal resistance decreased with the increase of age.(3)The left and right side of the inspiratory nasal resistance values were 0.46±0.15,0.46±0.16(KPa/L·s),the expiratory nasal resistance values were 0.49±0.17,0.47±0.17(KPa/L·s).After statistical analysis,there was no significant difference between the different sides of inspiratory and expiratory nasal resistance(p>0.05).(4)The mean value of nasal resistance and total nasal resistance(KPa/L·s)of normal subjects like Rins were 0.45±0.16,Rexp were 0.49±0.24,TRins were 0.22±0.06,TRexp were0.23±0.07.After statistical analysis,there was no significant difference between Rins and Rexp,and also no significant difference between TRins and TRexp in the normal population(p>0.05).(2)The inspiratory nasal resistance values of mild,moderate and severe nasal obstruction group were 0.73±0.35,1.18±0.68,2.34±1.66(KPa/L·s),and the expiratory nasal resistance values were 0.75±0.34,1.24±0.85,2.40±1.92(KPa/L·s).Comparison between groups,there was no significant difference between mild and moderate,mild and severe,moderate and severegroup(p<0.05).(3)The correlation coefficient r of inspiratory and expiratory nasal resistance and VAS score were 0.61 and 0.56,p<0.05,there was statistical significance,there exists a positive correlation between VAS score and unilateral inspiratory and expiratory nasal resistance value.Conclusions:The study showed that the normal group of nasal resistance value(KPa/L·s)range:bilateral nasal resistance value of Rins was 0.260.79,Rexp was 0.270.87,the total nasal resistance value of TRins was 0.130.37,TRexp was 0.140.38.There was no difference in the nasal resistance,side and respiratory phase of the normal group,except the right expiratory nasal resistance of Female higher than male,the value of other nasal resistance was no significant difference in gender,but decreased with the increase of age.It is feasible to use the VAS score to distinguish nasal obstruction.There was a positive correlation between nasal resistance and VAS score. |
