Objective:To investigate the level of the body image in head and neck cancer postoperative patients.To describe the relationship between social support?coping style and the body image,and to analyze influence factors of the body image in head and neck cancer postoperative patients.In order to provide reference for improving the head and neck cancer postoperative patients' body image.Methods:By convenient sampling,from April to September in 2017,totally 203 head and neck cancer postoperative patients were investigated with the Patients' General Information Questionnaire ? Body Image Scale(BIS)? Social Support Rate Scale(SSRS),and Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire(MCMQ)in a tumor hospital in Nanchang,Jiangxi province.SPSS(version 19.0)software was used for statistical analysis.Results:1.A total of 220 questionnaires were given out in this study,and 203 questionnaires were effective.The recovery rate of the effective questionnaires was 92.27%.2.The total score of BIS in the head and neck cancer postoperative patients was 10.10±5.14,the minimum is 2 points and the highest is 23 points.48.26% patients have body image problems.The dimension scores: emotional dimension score was(3.76±2.16),behavior dimension score was(1.70±1.16),cognitive dimension score(4.65±2.28),the dimension item average sort from low to high followed by behavioral dimension score was(0.85±0.58),emotional dimension score was(0.94±0.54),cognitive dimension score was(1.16±0.57).3.The total score of SSRS in the head and neck cancer postoperative patients was 31.19±5.87,the minimum is 16 points and the highest is 53 points.The dimension scores: subjective support dimension score was(14.91±4.26),objective support dimension score was(9.64±2.12),utilization degree of support dimension score was(6.65±1.88),the dimension item average sort from low to high followed by utilization degree of support dimension score was(2.21±0.63),objective support dimension score was(3.21±0.71),subjective support dimension score was(3.73±1.06).The face of coping style score was(18.18±3.26),avoidance of coping style was(15.59±2.29),resignation of coping style was(9.48±2.15),the dimension item average sort from low to high followed by resignation of coping style was(1.90±0.43),avoidance of coping style was(2.23±0.33),face of coping style score was(2.27±0.41).4.Different age? gender?family per capita income?marital status?postoperative weight change?with or without function injury and flap transplantation?postoperative time?therapy method and disease stage,have different BIS score in head and neck cancer postoperative patients,and the difference was statistically significant(P(27)0.05).5.The SSRS score was negatively correlated with BIS score in head and neck cancer postoperative patients(r=-0.591,P(27)0.01).Subjective support dimension score?objective support dimension score and utilization degree of support dimension score were all negatively correlated with BIS score.The face of coping style score was negatively correlated with BIS score(r=-0.477,P(27)0.01).The avoidance of coping style score was positively correlated with BIS score(r=0.486,P(27)0.01).The resignation of coping style score was also positively correlated with BIS score(r=0.368,P(27)0.01).6.Multiple regression analysis showed that influence factors of the BIS scores in head and neck cancer postoperative patients were age?gender?disease stage?therapy method?with or without flap transplantation?SSRS scores?and face of coping style scores.The regression model's seven variables were combined to predict the variation of 63.4%.Conclusions:1.The body image problem of head and neck cancer postoperative patients is serious.48.26% patients have body image problems.2.The head and neck cancer postoperative patients' social support is in a moderate level.And they mainly use the face of coping ways to cope.3.The higher social support's level,the higher body image's level in head and neck cancer postoperative patients.The higher face of coping style's level,the higher body image's level in head and neck cancer postoperative patients.4.The level of body image was affected by age?gender?disease stage?therapy method?with or without flap transplantation?social support?and face of coping style.The older ages,the higher body image's level;Women have the higher level of body image than men;The patient with flap transplantation have lower level of body image compared to the patient without flap transplantation;The more advanced the stage of disease and the more complicated the treatment,the lower body image's level.
