Buddhism permeates in modern life through grotto temples throughout the mountains and rivers. Today, people also put themselves linked with Buddhism through tourism and pilgrimage. In the crowd of Buddhist shrines sightseeing or worship, a real understanding of Buddhism can be said to be minimal. In the modern world, Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes may be a tourist destination, but in the history of ancient cave making, it is the reveal of truth, the reality of life and thinking. Mogao Grottoes murals is the witness of history, is the era of footprints. From sixteen countries to the Yuan Dynasty, the artist who sketched carefully approached Mogao can still perceive its ancient atmosphere, silent shock. Mogao mural is an image of encyclopedia books, worth studying for generations of people in different fields.A large number of murals showing its unique highly expressive and appealing, its color deconstruction of regularity, rich content, diversity reflects the composition of the high artistic value, and also show the development process of Chinese traditional painting. Therefore, this paper for surround Dunhuang Jataka themes to guide the interpretation of the relevant cultural factors.The whole study steps interpreted Dunhuang Jataka stories from an angle of folk literature to the existing literature and folklore mural material, the meaning and philosophy of Dunhuang Grottoes Jataka paintings are analyzed from the research point of view. Murals background and characteristics of each period are summarized.Chapter 1, exploring special geographical and historical and cultural background of Dunhuang firstly, and the contribution for Buddhism in China in the process of Buddhism afferenting in China; then narrative motivation of this paper, the status and the method.Chapter 2,This chapter investigated the Dunhuang Jataka meaning, origin, background, and the Buddha story, as well as the story of the relationship between karma, defined the positioning of Dunhuang Jataka story clearly. Secondly, the ideological content of each period Jataka stories are analyzed.Chapter 3, Southern and Northern Dynasties Jataka stories are explored. The current status of each Caves and Jataka paintings content are researched, and the painting of the themes and ideas Jataka are analyzed. Fully speaking, Northern Liang, Northern Wei, Western Wei, Northern Zhou several historical periods, early in Dunhuang mural art are the satge of created and development. Jataka Stories About Sui Song and Yuan Dynasties.The current status of the subject and the Caves of Jataka stories are categorized and the ideological content of their character and theme are analyzed, at this time, Dunhuang grotto art is a mature stage. Examples reserach on different look of the same subject at different times which is reflected.Chapter 4, the characteristics of Dunhuang Dunhuang Art Jataka stories are discussed. Story elements in contemporary artists painting works draw Dunhuang are researched, the use of traditional Chinese art style elements are inherited and explored. The Dunhuang frescoes in the modern development of the road in the hands are explored. Foreign Dunhuang murals and focusing range are found out.Chapter 5,conclusion. The influence of Indian culture to China is mainly from the Buddhism. No matter the topic, theme, image, stylistic, or the ideological interest, Since the introduction of Buddhism after the Han Chinese painting, the connotation of Buddhist thought or Buddhist story painting are used in varying degrees, absorption becomes part of the Chinese culture and soul deep. The Buddhist mural features in an era of change are explored, future development and researches of national and native Dunhuang are analyzed.
