The importance of contemporary aesthetic value of Dunhuang frescoes is self-evident. Besides the religious meanings and folk aesthetic connotations, during the historical accumulation of dynasties, it formed an encompassing diversity, which is included by the subject matter and also the mural style factors. On the other hand, the modern landscape painting is pushed forward in the two systems since the modern cultural developments began. One is the internal development of traditional landscape painting system. Sample artist:Huang BinHong. Stones from other hills may serve to polish the jade of this one’ being nourished by western art and other kinds of art styles or techniques, the second system is formed a new force for the development. The typical artists are Lin FengMian, Wu GuanZhong. Today, the ideas and styles of landscape painting are more diverse. As a symbol, Dunhuang frescoes carried the traditional meaning and also presented a strong visual impact of singular characteristic, it will definitely provide a new inspirition opportunity for today’s landscape painting. This article is divided into two parts. The first part is an analyze of the detailed formation and perspective factors. The second part is an excavation of the inspiration opportunities of ideas, styles and techniques. The two parts are discoursed from two aspects:the visual form aspect and visual psychological aspect. Methodologically, I am trying to discourse this article by combining Image Science analyzing and the self-confirmed creative practice. Both of the two aspects are followed the principle of true expression. My analyze of the Dunhuang frescoes of form elements, is based on the on-site experience of watching cave paintings and screening new aesthetic-factors, such as the article described:the hidden geometry modeling, multiple-repetitive structure similarity order, mystery, fantanstic meaning,etc. As an inspiration of landscape painting from Dunhuang frescoes, the two aspects are also rooted in the experience of my creative self-expression. The rambling style composition, decorative sense, repeated factors, mystery and narrative expression are extendedly present from my creative expression. How These aspects are combined with the Chinese ink and other materials, how these aspects are present through the personal feeling expression, are needed to absorb and to learn from the practical creative expression. Thus, this article describethat the most important thing of studying Dunhuang frescos is to digest, is to extract the individual symbols and refine personal visual language system from the life experience inspirited by the visual language laws, based on the visual theory and also practical experience. Meanwhile, the monastic beauty the great serenity of Dunhuang frescos present, by inspiring artists to lead the various visual impact, such as paranoid beauty, rugged beauty and pristine beauty, to peace; by sublimating the emotional power of art work from touching one’s heart to soothing one’s soul, ultimately enhanced the dignity level of art works.
