A Translation Project Report On 2014 Report On The Work Of Hunan Government

This paper is a translation practice report based on the translation of 2014 Work report on People's Government of Hunan Province, focusing on the analysis of the commonly use of translation methods or skills on the government work report,one of political essays with Chinese characteristics. The provincial government work report belongs to not only Chinese political literature, but also publicity materials, and in the content it involves economies,policies and all other aspects on the basis of politics; in the language, verbs are used frequently, the repeated or high frequency use of a word and so on. Then we should be faithful to the original as possible in the translation, instead of dead translation (translation word for word and sentence for sentence),ignoring the inertial thinking of the target language. This translation report summarizes the characteristics of the text style and language, through the reduction of the translating process and the in-depth analysis of typical cases in the article, the corresponding feasible translation methods were put forward in the report. The report aims to summarize the experience of this translation project in order to provide the concrete operation references for the same kind of translation practice.The main contents of this translation report are divided into four parts. The first part is a brief introduction to the translation project, including the origin and the selection of the topics of translation report The second part is the operation process of this translation project. The third part is analysis on translation cases, including the stylistic and linguistic features of text translation, and proposing the feasible strategies for all kinds of language phenomena. The fourth part is the summary of the harvest and the problems in the translation practice.
