Based on the characteristics of five kinds of second language teaching methods and applicable objects, this paper studies new beginning students of learning Chinese as a foreign language in 5 Chinese comprehensive courses of three universities in Wuhan.Three means have been used during the study, which are observation in classroom,interview and questionnaire. The research target on comprehensive course of new beginning foreign students, and proceeded through interview before class,observation in the class and survey after class. The author introduced five new teaching method to make sure that teachers been interviewed had a clear mind of what the interview about. The observation has been done with sensitive objective angel. The survey has been done at last with both Chinese and English version questions to grantee that students understand every question. The process last for two months. there are two problems about teaching methods using on Chinese as a foreign language of colleges and universities in Wuhan : the first one is teachers are generally lack of theoretical knowledge;Second one is, the experiences exchange and teaching method innovation is insufficient.Combining with the results, the author put forward the corresponding suggestions for improvement of teaching method on the basis of actual characteristics of teaching Chinese as a foreign language in three colleges and universities.
