Metaphor Of Deity And Devil For Rural Christian Who Believe In God For Illness And Social Work Intervention

With the increasing number of Christians into the church due to illness,negative impact on the development process of rural Christian presence has become more prominent, one of them is the metaphor of deity and devil. In the metaphor of deity and devil, people is between God and Ghost, which provides space and field to the battle for them. The encroachment from Ghost to human and the bless from God to people become two shares prolonged struggle power of believers. On believers’ view, sick is the result because of their own crime which led to the loss of God’s blessing to the fox demon invasion as represented. Taboo of going to a doctor and imagination of devil become the main symptoms table about the problem, among them, taboo of going to a doctor manifested as go to the hospital for treatment before serious illness, and imagination of devil showed the imaginary about devil in everywhere. This article is a practice research about the taboo of going to a doctor and imagination of devil problem.In this paper, rational emotive therapy and narrative therapy are selected as guiding theory, choosing Z village of the North of Jiangsu Province as a studying case, carrying out casework for taboo of going to a doctor and imagination of devil separately. The problem of taboo of going to a doctor is caused by irrational cognitive for diseases, hospitals and doctors, interventions including diagnosis, correction and consolidation of three stages, the main strategy is drawing support through God’s power. The use of this strategy performance some words, such as “the contradictions between God almighty and recurrent disease”,“ God has more important things to do”,“Doctor is God’s messenger on earth”, which gradually make the case to form a rational cognition, ultimately makes the case limb medical illness. The problem of imagination of devil is caused by the case of the main narrative of everyday life in bourne, the intervention consisted of externalization, deconstruction and rewriting three stages, the main strategy is to go to the narrating of removing devil. The use of strategy performances for weakening the relevance of the devil and the fox, telling the story of the fox rescue, gradually get rid of the case so that the main fear of the fox. Finally, through the establishment of the final return to the glory of God in daily life narrative alternative to the original bourne main narrative, So get rid of the problem completely about the imagination of devil problem.For the Christians living under the metaphor of deity and devil problem in Village Christian, are suffering from the problem of taboo of going to a doctor and imagination of devil, in the case of work in the form of microscopic involvement them, provides a possible path for solving such problems. Meanwhile, the paper also enriches the study of Christians believing in god for curing illness in rural areas and metaphor of deity and devil.
