Under the background of global Chinese language fever, the number of non-Chinese learning Chinese in Malaysia is increasing. In recent years, Chinese language has played an important role which have attracted many of non-Chinese parents to send their children in attending Chinese language learning. Malaysia Chinese education system have stipulates that for non-Chinese children to enter into a Chinese elementary school, they need first to enter into a Chinese language kindergarten. For kindergarten second language acquisition, the Chinese language teaching needs to be based on the characteristics of the children's and also need to have the appropriate teaching materials that are suitable for their age group. In Malaysia at present, there are not much specifically children's Chinese textbooks, there is a lack of relevant research, and it is worth a good study. This paper attempts to make some discussion on this aspect.On January 2016 to February 2016, I had a teaching practice at one of the Chinese Preschool in Malaysia, Tadika Anak Minda and have been using the teaching materials of "Le Le Language Train Textbook" (1-4). This teaching material on surface, whether in the content layout or in the language elements, has some obvious characteristics. This article intended to analyze the characteristics of this set of preschool Chinese textbooks, and points out the advantages and disadvantages of the teaching materials. On the basis of this, this paper puts forward the suggestion of further revision of this set of textbooks, and puts forward some preliminary thoughts on the compilation of Chinese textbooks for young children.The thesis is divided into the following parts: The first chapter will introduces the research background and significance, the research targets and methods, and also relevant literature review for this paper research.The second chapter mainly discusses on children's cognitive characteristics and the requirements of the designation of a teaching materials. The designation of a teaching materials would be discussed from the point of view of pertinence, interest and practicality.The third chapter focuses on the "Le Le Language Train Textbook" (1-4), analysis of the content and style of the textbook, the language elements of teaching materials processing characteristics and teaching practice design.The fourth chapter is based on the previous research of further thinking, mainly from the perspective of the uses of the teaching materials, "Le Le Language Train Textbook" (1-4) the pros and cons and puts forward some suggestions towards Chinese textbooks compilation for children.This paper will also provide a great benefit to the development of local Chinese language teaching materials. At present, the research on the Chinese textbooks for young children in Malaysia is still short of research. This study put forward a new development for early childhood education. From this research, I also hope that a lot of contributions will be made to the Malaysia children's Chinese teaching materials and hope that the Chinese teaching materials will have a more wonderful future.
