English teaching model is a relatively stable teaching model built based on the theory of English teaching and English teaching experience. According to relevant literature on teaching model, this thesis summed up seven main English teaching models including the interactive teaching model, cooperative teaching model, the scaffolding instruction model, inquiry-based learning model, self-adjusting strategy development model, autonomous and cyclic learning model and English teaching model based on multimedia network. The Flipped Classroom teaching model is a relatively new teaching model, based on three prevailed social science theories in the 20 th century: constructivism learning theory, multi-mode theory and collaborative learning theory, and arises at the historic moment with the rapid development of network information technology, applied to English teaching field, making good teaching effects. By comparing the Flipped Classroom teaching model with the seven main English teaching models, we can directly see the advantages and shortcomings of the Flipped Classroom teaching model from this thesis, and can also predict its development prospects at the same time.Meanwhile, college English listening and speaking course is a younger one among all the English courses in China and it has distinct era characteristic of its own. It's based on the theory of constructivism, by multimedia computers and the Internet, pays attention to learners' emotional factors, their learning strategies and the study of western culture, and develops the students' English listening ability, oral communication ability and autonomous learning ability. At the present time, although college English teaching gets rid of the bondage of the entrance pressure, compared with the high school English teaching, parts of the local colleges and universities' main teaching goal are still in non-English students passing CET-4, CET-6, TOEFL, IELTS and postgraduate entrance English examination, running through the exam-oriented education. As a language and culture learning, English teaching should pay more attention to the cultivation of communication skills such as listening andspeaking. While, English is based on the students firmly grasping good English vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension, writing and other basic knowledge, English learning should arise in a good language environment to complete. However, the Flipped Classroom refers to students in advance autonomously learning the new knowledge by watching teaching video and teaching courseware by teachers out of the class, making the process of knowledge transformation; after that, the students they should participate in the interaction, cooperation, sharing and discussion with classmates and their teachers in class with the questions occurring in the process of learning, fully achieving understanding and mastering of the new knowledge so as to complete the whole learning process. For English teachers and learners, such teaching model is a kind of brand-new attempt. According to the observation results and related survey data, with the literature research, questionnaire research and participatory observation, the thesis makes use of the method of SWOT to analyze by the numbers the necessity and feasibility of the Flipped Classroom teaching model's application to college English listening and speaking course, and puts forward the corresponding teaching strategies, in order to efficiently carry out the Flipped Classroom teaching model in college English listening and speaking course.
