With the continuous development of globalization, the communication in the field of economy, politics, culture and even architecture among different countries has become increasingly closer. However, the translator finds that English versions of the documents of building projects in China are still few and far between. Therefore, entrusted by the China Shanghai Architectural Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd, the translator chooses the Design Description of the C-9-2 Project in Zhangjiang Central District of Shanghai as the source text. After reading a large number of bilingual materials, Chinese-English Dictionary of Civil Engineering, and Internet resources, the translator translates the source text into English and writes this translation practice report. The translated version of the project land design description could provide reference for foreign counties to know about Chinese architectural field on one hand, and beneficial for the company to attract foreign investment on the other hand. The translation practice report is composed of four chapters. To be specific, the first chapter gives detailed introduction to the background, theoretical foundation, target and significance of translating C-9-2 project. The second chapter briefly introduces the project specification, including relevant background, content, and linguistic features of the source text. And the third chapter elaborates on difficult problems and translation methods adopted in the process of translation. Specifically, the translation difficulties include terminology translation, shift of passive voice and stylistic equivalence. Guided by Nida's functional equivalence, the translator combines the word-for-word and literal translation techniques during the translation practice. The translator also adopts specific translation methods, such as amplification, omission, inversion and recasting during the translation practice. In the fourth chapter, the translator sums up the problems to be solved, acquired experience and lessons, and also the enlightenment for further work and life. After this translation practice, the translator not only gets familiar with language features of the informative texts, but also has a better command of translation strategies and methods for English for Architecture, which altogether lays a solid foundation for future translation work.
