Water color has been introduced into China from the West for more than one hundred years. After the reform and opening up, with the development of society, the progress of the times, and mutual integration of Chinese and Western art, after several generations of watercolor artist tireless work and actively explore, Chinese watercolor gradually developed into have its own national features and unique artistic features. Ninety years later, the watercolor figure painting to get more attention and attention of the painter, produced a number of daring to open up, creative, and promote the development of Chinese watercolor figure painting. Such as Ye Xianmin,Liu Yi, Shi Tao, etc., they are bold and innovative, broaden the scope of the subject matter, rich form of expression, create a number of outstanding works of the spirit of the times.In this thesis, the research of the creative process of the series of the prairie portrait series is divided into four parts. First, through my own life experience and watercolor masters give my inspiration, clarify the selection of theme creation reason; second, through the analysis of the famous works of painting language of light and color, discusses the influence of my creation; third, through the use of form and techniques of painting language in the portrait series, discusses the process of my creation; fourth, through the grassland character image to convey the has characteristic of the era of national spirit and for my future creation of watercolor painting an important role, on the grassland character portrait series "creation of meaning.In my writing process, the experiment method, the investigation method, the literature research method and the experience summary method,and so on, as my research method.
