Objective:This research is designed to learn psychological status and life quality of severe burn patients during rehabilitation,and to explore the impact of cognitive behavioural therapy in this process.As well,it is also used to imply further research of rehabilitation of burn patients.Methods: The comparative study is used in this research,38 severely burn patients are grouped as the cognitive behavior therapy group(experimental group)and the supportive psychotherapy(control group),with 19 patients each group.The pretest-posttest data of 35 patients who finished the studies(17 in the experimental group and 18 in the control group)after 3 months is used to analysis.Results:①The subjects include 22 male and 13 female,with average age of38.89 and burn area of 79.54%.②For patients with severe burns,the detection rate of post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD)symptoms,anxiety,depression and mental health symptoms is 54.3%,60%,74.3% and 80% respectively,which all higher than the data in previous related reports.③The quality of life and the well-being of patients with severe burn is lower than that of normal people.④There is no significant difference in gender,age,occupation,income,size of burnt area,and education background between the experimental and control group(p>0.05).⑤There are significant differences of pretest-posttest data in PCL-C,SDS,SCL-90,SF-36 for severe burn patients after psychological intervention,while no difference in GWB,SAS scores(p>0.05).⑥Thereis no significant difference in PCL-C,GWB,SAS,SDS,SCL-90,SF-36 between the experimental and control group before the psychological intervention(p>0.05).⑦There are significant differences in PCL-C,SAS,SDS,SCL-90,SF-36 tests before and after psychological intervention(p<0.05)for the experimental group,while no difference is found in GWB scores(p>0.05).(8)There is no difference in PCL-C,SAS,SDS,SCL-90,SF-36 tests before and after psychological intervention for the control group(p>0.05)(9)There are significant differences in PCL-C,SAS,SDS,SCL-90,SF-36 after psychological intervention(p<0.05)between the experimental and control group,while no difference in GWB scores(p>0.05).10 There is no difference in physiological rehabilitation index between the experimental and control group.Conclusions:High occurrence of PTSD、Anxiety and Depression in severe burn patients is revealed.Cognitive behavior therapy is related the above symptoms and the mental health of these patients.There is significant difference between the life quality of these patients and normal people,although the patient’s life quality has been improved by cognitive behavior therapy.The well-being and physiological rehabilitation of the patients in short time(3 months)is not related to cognitive behavior therapy.
