After treatment, we did statistical analysis of the two groups before and after treatment self-rating anxiety scale (SAS), symptom checklist (SCL-90) to find if there were no significant difference, and through the analysis of mid-and late group therapy, to find the main therapeutic factors.Result:1,the experimental group's anxiety level (SAS) was significantly lower than before treatment, while symptoms of somatization, depression, sleep and food were better than before the treatment, but the control group just improved little and the difference was not significant;2, the mental health (SCL-90) of experimental group improved significantly, while the control group's mental health was not significantly improved;3, In this study, important factors in 1-4 weeks are: group cohesion, catharsis, family scenarios reproduce, hopes remodeling; in1-8 weeks are: group cohesion, interpersonal learning (acquisition), information transmission, hope remodeling, and awareness; in 4-8 weeks are: altruism, interpersonal learning (acquisition), information transmission and hope remodeling. Conclusion:The anxiety of freshmen improved after the supportive group psychotherapy, while the supportive group therapy can improve the whole mental health of college freshmen. These showed that: a supportive group therapy can be chose for the relief of anxiety of university students, and should pay attention to the efficacy of the corresponding factor on the different stages of treatment.
