Research On �Specially� Manner Adverbs

This article does the research on four manner adverbs containing the same morpheme, which are �specially �, �expressly�,� for�, �hereby �. The whole article can be divided into fours chapters.In chapter one, the article mainly studies the �specially� manner adverbs from the aspects of syntactic analysis, discusses the collocation of the �specially�manner adverbs with verbs, phrases, and adjectives and clarifies the coexist of �specially�manner adverbs with other adverbs, adverbial modifier, and special format on the basis of analyzing and sorting linguistic dates. By studying the function of the collocation of the �specially� manner adverbs like in these sentence patterns, we can have a deeper understanding not only on the specialty and usage of these manner adverbs, but also on the differences of their collocation with each other.In the second chapter, from the diachronic perspective, the author analyzes the evolution of �specially �manner adverbs. On the aspect of virtual system and virtual motives, these four manner adverbs are affected by two syllable trend, disintegration,reanalysis and compact syncteme, but four of them have their own different virtual specialty. The grammaticalization of �specially � is from phrase to adverb directly.� for� is the condensation of the adverb �special�and the preposition �for�. With the vanish of the semantics and the part of speech of the preposition of �for�, �for� has become the suffix of �special�to finish the lexicalization. �hereby �is from the grammaticalization of the non-contiguous phrase structure of different levels. Even though the pronoun�here�has been grammaticalized into affix, but it still carries the meaning of its own. �expressly�is the combination of adverb �special�with the affix�di�. �di�has become the inner part of the adverb �expressly�.Chapter three mainly discusses the functions of those words in a pragmatic way.Firstly,the distribution of�specially�manner adverbs in declarative,exclamatory and interrogative sentence,is analyzed in this chapter. Secondly,a comparative analysis among those words in style is carried out.Finally,the�specially �manner adverbs is studied from the perspective of pragmatic funtion.Chapter four is the conclusion in which the whole text is concluded.
