Science and culture are both human cultural phenomena. They are closely connected and are of the same origin. All bold art creation and revolutionary physics studies explore the true nature of everything in the universe and pursue precise and careful observation and innovative descriptions of the world. Scientists believe that the theory of multidimensional space which led to new thinking of literature, philosophy and art developed tremendously from the late 19th century to the 20th century. And modern painting was the first to interprete the theory of multidimensional space to the public in the most direct way. These modern and post-modern arts emphasize continuity, trans-time and trans-space, i.e. the freedom from time and space in the art creation process, which will make the present and past inseparable in one's mind. It is in perfect harmony with the membrane theory put forward by physicists that time and space are not four-dimensional (three-dimensional space and one-dimensional time) but ten-dimensional and the universe we observe is only a four-dimensional super curved surface in the ten-dimensional space. The paper which adopts documentary research method and interdisciplinary research method refers to numerous documents and foreign visual materials and combines them with the knowledge of the major. It is meant to show the public the historical relations between art and science with simple words. Modern art when first invented was affected by the most advanced technological discoveries of the time. Human civilizations are advancing constantly because of our persistent exploration of unknown territories in external world and our self-reflection in our inner world. It is with no doubt that modern physics and a number of scientific discoveries are mankind's explorations of the external world and that literature and art, modern and contemporary art in particular belong to the category of self-cognition. Therefore, the most respectable art creation need to reject aimless replication and should describe the development of human society in a forward-looking and prospective way. Only arts with foresight are of historic meaning and are also the subjects of post-contemporary painting. And artists will be able to differentiate themselves from others and explore more possibilities if they could learn more about other things besides painting.
