The middle stage of Ming dynasty is a turning point of Neo-Confucianism development in entire Song and Ming dynasty.In that stage,the theory of Cheng-Zhu's Neo-Confucianism is dominate initially,and then it was replaced by the Mind theory of Yang Ming.Therefore,understanding the question that whether or not there was a trend about Cheng-Zhu's Neo-Confucianism transform to the Mind Theory of Yang Ming in the early Ming dynasty is significant to the research of Neo-Confucianism.Cao Duan was respectfully called as "the head of early Ming dynasty" for his research in Neo-Confucianism and his influence on the change of Neo-Confucianism in the middle Ming dynasty.His theory is based on the Cheng-Zhu's Neo-Confucianism,and it's also different with it.As his opinion about "Taiji Motion and Quietness" is different from Zhu Xi's one,there are differences between his opinion and Zhu Xi's in ontology.And these difference made his opinion more different from Zhu Xi's in the Mind-Nature theory and Literature theory.These change makes his theory tending to Mind theory,and has an influential role on the later development of Mind theory.It also makes affect more or less on the later ideologists such as Xue Xuan and Luo Qin Shun.On the basement of others' previous research,author of this article makes further research on the characteristic about Cao Duan's Neo-Confucianism.From the main part of his theory,Ontology,Mind-Nature theory and Literature theory,author demonstrate the philosophy venation of his theory.By comparing with the background of Neo-Confucianism in Song and Ming dynasty,author comprehensively learns about the inheritance and development of Cheng-Zhu's Neo-Confucianism by Cao Duan,and his influence on the later ideologists.
