This research took four high school students as the object of the study. It aimed to find out the current situation of non-suicidal self-injury(NSSI) in middle school students and probe the influence of the individual emotional factors on NSSI in middle school students. The study also aimed to explore the effectiveness of improvement of the students' NSSI with the help of emotional management group.This research adopted NSSI questionnaire to survey 1063 middle school students and analyze the current situation and the reason of NSSI. We randomly divided into experimental group and control group among 20 subjects which had NSSI. Emotional management group guidance intervened in the experimental group, but the control group was intervened by self-confidence that was not related to emotional management. After group guidance, we did statistical analysis about the test of experimental group and control group in order to further explore the emotional management group guidance's improvement on emotional management and intervention effect of NSSI. We carried out a follow-up test at three months after Emotional management group guidance in order to know the duration of the intervention effect.The results are as follows:(1) 46.57 percent of the subjects had NSSI. NSSI among middle school students did not have significant differences in school category and demographic variables such as gender, origin, only child.(2) Self management is the main factor in influencing NSSI in middle school students and the emotional management in self management could predict self-injurious behavior in a certain extent.(3) Emotional management group can improve the level of NSSI of the experimental group, but there was no significant change in the control group.(4) Emotional management group guidance has a persistent effect on the level of emotional management and the improvement of NSSI.
