A Study On The Interpersonal Relationshiop Of Shifting The Address Forms

It is a common phenomenon to shift the address forms in language communication which generally falls into two categories. One is using the different address forms in the same communication course. Another is using the different address forms then ever before situation.In this paper, we take the documentary History Documentary Film Deng Xiaoping in History's Turing Points as an example to survey how to choose the address forms and how to shift the address forms, and analyze what pragmatic effect would be led to when shifting the address forms. Besides, we also inspect the friendly,the neutral, the opposites including officials and ordinary people shifting the address forms whether the notified party is on the scene or not from the point of interpersonal distance and social power. And it comes to the following conclusions.In terms of choosing the address forms and interpersonal distance, it can reflect the interpersonal distance through the address forms used by the people who is supporting, neutral or opposing. Pepole would choose different address forms or types to express different information because of all kinds of different contexts such as the notified party is on the scene or not. No matter interpersonal distance is close or not,politeness principles is preferred when it is talking face to face.In terms of shifting the address forms, in the same types of shifting, the majority will transform to omit titles which always enhances the emotional on the basis of the former or adds to expressing other emotion or both of them. And some people will shift the address forms because of different communication objects. In the different types of shifting, it can enhance the emotional or indicate to transforming the topic or adjust the strategies to promote the communication or take it closer between the communicating parties.In terms of shifting the address forms and the social power, the address forms will change with the social power. When the notified party grows big and strong from small and weak, it shows some characteristics. From the trend of using the addressforms and types, the friendly is reducing the name address but adding the specific social address and the kinship address. The neutral is adding the specific social address and increasing in decreasing the title address. The opposite is adding the title address. From the stability of shifting the address forms, the friendly is the highest which is least affected by the social power. The stability of the opposite is low which is most affected. And the stability of the neutral is lower. From the psychological emotional reflected by shifting the address forms, the friendly is the staunch support because they don't change their attitudes when the social power changes. The neutral is not the firm centrist because they change their attitudes easily when the social power changes. It may imply a certain political inclination. The opposite is the relative persister because they sometimes shift the address forms as the social power changing and show more moderate and neutrality attitude to the notified party. It stems from the politeness and respect or implies attitudes on a certain political inclination.
