Yan Lianke,from the western Henan rural.He always stick to the native world,makes him become an unique writer in contemporary literature.By reading his local novel, we can find three prominent themes:suffering, power, national spirit.These three themes' writing have different performance in his works.The narrative of suffering,he not only reflects the subsistence of farmers' suffering,but also writes the existence of people' suffering.He criticizes the underlying farmers' numb swallowed with sympathy at the same time.He emphatically describe rural power system affects on people based on the related by marriage.Through the description of power control and power chaser,Yan Lianke shows us the power oppression of alienation.In the narration about the nation's spirit, Lianke unearthed the underlying folk deep-rooted bad habits of citizens.As an enlightenment writer,this paper studies from three angles as the breakthrough points so as to discuss the special value of Yan Lianke among contemporary writers.
