| Objective: Explore the impact of dark triad(Machiavellianism?Psychopathy and Narcissism) on students life satisfaction,meanwhile examine whether coginitive empathy,emotion empathy and leadership skills play an intermediary role between them,and whether the gender play a regulatory role between these variables. Methods: Taking gender, major, grade and other factors into account,take 438 sophomore and junior students as our research target in certain college in ZhengZhou by stratified random sampling method,and carry on Surveying and collect valid data by using Dirty Dozen in Chinese(DD), Basic Empathy Seale in Chinese(BES-C), Scale for college students leadership skills and life satisfaction scale(SWLS). Remove the invalid data and input data by Epi Data 3.1 software.Using descriptive statistics independent samples t-test, Pearson correlation analysis, linear regression, Fisher Z test, mediation effect test and Bootstrap for data analysis. Results:(1)Generally life satisfaction is at a middle level, and the girls are significantly higher than boys;Boys' scores are significantly higher than girls' in machiavellianism and psychopathy, but significantly lower in narcissism;In terms of empathy,boys' coginitive empathy?emotion empathy and total scores of empathy are all significantly lower than girls'(p <.01); In terms of leadership skills,girls' interpersonal leadership skills(p <.01)and total scores of leadership skills(p <.05)are significantly higher than boys';Finally, the boys' scores of life satisfaction are significantly lower than girls'(p <.01);(2)Machiavellianism is significantly related to psychopathy(p <.01),narcissism exists significant correlation with machiavellianism(p <.01),and is insignificantly related to psychopathy(p >.05);(3)Machiavellianism is negatively significant correlation with empathy and cognitive empathy and emotional empathy two subscales(p <.01),and positively significant correlation with rational leadership skills(r = 0.113,p <.05).Psychopathy exists negatively correlation with empathy(p <.01), and with life satisfaction(p<.05).Narcissism is positively significant correlation with empathy?leadership skills and life satisfaction(p <.01). In addition,empathy exist positively significant correlation with leadership skills(p <.01), coginitive empathy is positively significant correlation with life satisfaction(p <.05),leadership skills exist positively significant correlation with life satisfaction;(4)Gender plays a regulatory role among machiavellianism and total leadership skills?machiavellianism and life satisfaction?psychopathy and total empathy ability;(5)Psychopathy ? narcissism and coginitive empathy all could significantly predict leadership skills,however, achiavellianism and emotional empathy has no significant prediction ability in leadership skills;narcissism and leadership skills could significantly predict life satisfaction,but coginitive empathy has no significant prediction ability in life satisfaction;(6)Coginitive empathy is complete mediation effect between psychopathy and leadership skills,but coginitive empathy is partial mediation effect between narcissism and leadership skills,effect size of mediation effect is 51.01%;Leadership skills is complete mediation effect between narcissism and life satisfaction. Conclusion:(1)Boys are more liking to manipulate others than girls, and they are more ruthless, impulse; Girls have more sense of privilege and self superiority than boys, and easier to realize the thoughts and feelings of others, and have a higher life satisfaction;(2)High machiavellianism girls have lower life satisfaction, leadership skills than Machiavellianism boys;Machiavellianism's rational leadership is high,Psychopathy's empathy, leadership and life satisfaction are low, and Narcissist's empathy, leadership and life satisfaction is highr;(3)Psychopathy has low empathy, and their leadership is not strong, Narcissists can through promoting cognitive empathy to enhance their leadership skills, then improve their life satisfaction. |
