China’s five thousand years of splendid civilization and culture inherent influenced the descendants of the Chinese Nation.The importance and the coverage of the traditional patterns could be reflected both from the perspective of the pattern’s development and pattern’s impact on people’s thinking modes.As the most representative decorative pattern of Chinese culture, dragon pattern’s artistic charm almost covers the entire arts and crafts area by its unique styling features, making it a primary representative of the traditional patterns.The proportion of body structure and component of elements are important parts of the object profile.To make detailed in-depth analysis of an object, we should start from every part and understand the significance of the value of each part. The way of a systematic classified summary of the object brings up the most comprehensive understanding.The study of dragon pattern takes same way.In order to maximize its value, every detail of the shape of dragon pattern needs to be considered.This is my main purpose of writing this paper. Meanwhile, the dragon pattern embodies the profound Chinese culture, and the morphological characteristics of other patterns also deeply affected.So exploring the significance of dragon pattern is also an important aspect of this paper.The article will come in three main sections of the traditional dragon pattern analysis. The first major section is the rheological study for development of China’s traditional dragon pattern.From modeling point of view, the development of the dragon pattern is divided into different representative periods, clarifying the rheology of the context, and then intercept developed dragon pattern from the Ming and Qing dynasties in details.So the second key section is the detailed analysis of the dragon from Ming and Qing Dynasties respectively.From the local head, body, claw and then the whole, a detailed analysis of structural characteristics of its shape brings up the law of shape variation of the Ming and Qing dragon pattern.The third important section is to make a specific study of the composition of Ming and Qing dragon pattern.Mainly through the dragon and cloud, phoenix, water lines, fire lines and other patterns, thereby compare their similarities and differences between points, and then the Ming and Qing dragon pattern on the scope of analysis.Finally summed up the dragon pattern’s impact on the plastic arts and cultural attributes it contains.Through the study of the above process, this paper undertook detailed analysis of Chinese traditional dragon pattern, style and composition, improving people to recognize and understand the cultural connotation of dragon pattern, and laid the foundation of traditional culture’s heritage and development in modern society.
