In the long historical river of China, the Silk Road driven by Zhangqian came to prominence, leading to multicultural communication and integration in China. Cross-culture communication gone more deeply and more frequently between the Northern and Southern Dynasties period. During the process of continuous culture accumulation and development, Tang Dynasty should be payed specific attention to study the development of Music and Dance. The great national power made Tang Dynasty possess the lofty place in the world, which also attracted different Chief of Nation coming to pay a visit. Envoys, monks, and talent people came to Chang'an, capital of Tang Dynasty, to earn their reputation.One key point of this artical focus on Hu Music, a branch of Music and Dance of Sui and Tang Dynasty with the most detailed classfication. Different kinds of Music and Dance specilized in different area, among which the Daqu Art represented the brilliant peak of the antient art of Music and Dance.The other key point lies in the Music and Dance of Dunhuang Frescoes. Due to its particular location, Dunhuang developed land transportation hub from Han Dynasty. Taking Qiuci Music and Xiliang Music as exanples, this artical try to do a research on the developing outlines of the Western Music and Dance in Sui and Tang Period. Remarkable contribution of the Sui and Tang Music and Dance to the whole world has been clarified after researching the geografic feature of the Mogao Caves, cultural environment and historical background of Dunhuang, the development of Qiuci Music and Xiliang Music and their impacts on the culture of the Central Plains.
