The famous modern botanist Hsen-Hsu Hu,left his own traces in the modern history of literature, history of thought. During the May 4th New Culture Movement, he appeared as a cultural conservative, became one of the three important characters in Xueheng School. The literary revolution advocated by the new culture school, Hsen-Hsu Hu advocated to take ancient runes as foundation, creating a more closely contact with the classical literature of "new literature". At the same time, he tried to correct with a conservative attitude radical activists on the traditional culture, avoiding causing the fracture of Chinese culture.As an backbone person in Xueheng School, Hsen-Hsu Hu suffered dual effects of the traditional Confucian education and the new humanism. In addition that he fight the voice with the new culture, he consciously stepped onto the path of classical literary thoughts. Hsen-Hsu Hu classical literary thought are mainly embodied in his insistence of writings in classical style, the understanding of the nature of literature, literary creation and literary criticism of classical pursuit, his emphasis on moral education function of literature and on against romanticism and realism literature and so on. His classical choice of correct understanding of scientific concepts, reflections on modernity as well as the inheritance and reconstruction has important significance in such aspects as the traditional. At present, research focuses on Hsen-Hsu Hu literary thought in his poetics thought. This thesis tries to research Hsen-Hsu Hu from the perspective of literary trend to classical literary thought, hoping to play a promotion and complementary role in Hsen-Hsu Hu literary thought research.
