This article, in the perspective of modernity, explores the background that produced the literary school of thoughts of classicism in China and abroad and their characteristics and Liang Shiqiu's literary practice. Based on his reception and application of Classicism and his construction of the ideal of Classicism criticism, this article studies his specific cultural choice and experiments and reaches the conclusion that Liang's Classical literary practice is of pure literature. Unlike the western classicists who harbor strong cultural criticism and the "Xueheng" school who accept classicism, Liang demonstrated the features of "heresy" in Chinese literary circle and his destiny of being out of place.
