A Research On Urban Cultural Images In The Song Dynasty

The great developments and breakthroughs in all fields in the Song Dynasty reflected its flourishing social and economic development,showing an image of co-existence and wide popularity.Many kind of art works give a full play of social customs in Song Dynasty.Riverside Scene on the Pure Brightness Festival is one of existing representative paintings showing social life in the Song Dynasty.Created by a painter in the Northern Song Dynasty named Zhang Zeduan during his working in Calligraphy and Painting Institute of Imperial Academy,the painting presents the scenes of business prosperity,social stability,economic development and peaceful life in Bianjing(now known as Kaifeng City)at that time.Therefore,it is significant for the research on the culture in the Northern Song Dynasty.Today after over 900 years,based on the painting,craftsmen and designers have built a park called Qing Ming Shang He Park(Qing Park)in Kaifeng,the capital of China in Nothern Song Dynasty.Since then,the Riverside Scene on the Pure Brightness Festival has been not only an untouchable painting,but also an immersive famous park.According to the documentary Qing Park in Northern Song Dynasty,the author,from the perspective of a tourist,reveals surface transportation and brisk trade in the city,as well as does some discussion and analysis on other city-borne cultural factors including living habits,architectural features,food culture and entertainment industry in hope of making a contribution to the research on the cultural images of the cities in China during the Song Dynasty.As an important way of recording the developments and changes of a city,city images record and preserve the change process of a city in a unique way.Images are more visualized and vivid,thus more acceptable.With modern fast-paced lifestyle,people will tend to choose media combining pictures and texts when reading because images can save time and it is much more convenient to read pictures than texts.Microblog,WeChat,video apps are making images the main media;city images,in an information era,is the best way to publicize cities.The thesis is composed of introduction,an overview of urban cultural images,profile of urban cultural images in the Song Dynasty,urban image design of Qing Park in Northern Song Dynasty and image creation of Qing Park in Northern Song Dynasty.The first part focuses on the reasons why city images are visualized and components of urban cultural images.Fast-paced life in modern society requires a convenient way to knowledge.The era of graphic communications has become a main way to spread knowledge and meet people's peeping desire.Among three major components of urban cultural images—people,landscape and urban changes,people is the most important vitality in urban life and also the main drive of urban development.Landscape is a display of a city.As a witness of urban culture,it is a unique and the best way to publicize a city.Moreover,urban images can record the process of urban changes and help people learn about it by pictures.In the second part,taking urban images in the Song Dynasty for example,the author discusses the expression of urban culture in the Song Dynasty,introducing urban economy,folk art,urban life and architecture in the Song Dynasty.The third part is the analysis of the structure of Qing Park in Northern Song Dynasty.Combining with this research,the author explains how to make a film structure in accordance with historical materials,architectures,food culture,etc.The last part is technical usages during the creation process,such as shot transition during shooting and the use of forms and cartoon elements during editing process.
