The Study Of The Chinese Rock And Roll Music Development In 1980s And 1990s

Rock and roll is a form of music which is based on black American music predominantly,absorbing the mainstream white country music and popular music and developed.It first originated in the late 1940 s the United States,and was popular in the early 1950 s.In the late 1970 s and the early 1980 s,with the normal development of diplomatic relations between China and western countries as well as the implementation of China's reform and opening policies,rock and roll music started to take its first appearance in China and rapidly received the great and wide popularity of Chinese individuals.Since the first rock and roll band consisting of Wan Xing,Li Shichao,Ma Xiaoyi and Wang Xibo was successfully built in 1980,there emerged certain extremely influential rock and roll bands at that time,including the Seven Plywood band represented by Cui Jian,the Roly-poly band represented by Zang Tianshuo and the Black Panther band represented by Dou Wei.All of these rock singers and bands referred above greatly injected fresh flood to the 1980s' pop music in China.And very thanks to their constant efforts,rock and roll music can have such a profound and lasting travel in China.However,by the middle 1990 s,as affected by various factors,rock and roll music in China suffered a dormant period.With the clue of teasing and reviewing the development process of rock and roll music in China from the 1980 s to 1990 s as well as the mainline of how to promote the development of China's rock and roll music under the background of multi-cultures,the reasons for the dormant period of China's rock and roll music in the middle 1990 s were analyzed and furthermore,suggestions and solutions for the future development of rock and roll music in China were also put forward.This paper is divided in seven parts.The first part is the introduction,which expounds the subject source,research purpose and significance,research methods,domestic and foreign research status,and main references.The second part is mainly discus the sprout period of Chinese rock music.It primarily introduces the connotation of rock ad roll music,introduced into China in the 1980 s,the early the development process and characteristics.The third part is the golden age of Chinese rock and roll music and mainly introduced in the early 1990 s the background,the process of the development of Chinese rockmusic,rock and roll characteristics and the reason why this period known as the Chinese rock gold period.Being a dormancy period in Rock history of China,part 4 introduction the downturn of it its late 1990 s from 3 aspect.Part 5 introduces the reason of the down turn.And part 6 offers further consideration.Basing on the above analysis,the author showed his advice on refining rock music shall enjoy an increase in folk music tendency,literary connotation,usage of traditional folk music instruments as well as government and media support.The seventh part is conclusion,which mainly introduces the achievements and disadvantages of this study.
