The Literary Research Of Yi Shunding

Yi Shunding was a famous writer and poet in the late Qing and early Republic period,and he was the representative figure of the late Tang Dynasty Poetry,with Fan Zengxiang said Fan Yi. As the overall research of his literary achievements nowadays in academia is imperfect, this paper will make a brief comb and generalization of Yi’s life and social intercourse based on the background and previous research results. Additionally, the paper will also make a comprehensive and profound study about his verse, classical Chinese poem and writing. A simple description of art characteristics of his literature will make while mining the ideological implication, so as to achieve the point of fully expressing the whole literature of Yi Shunding.The introduction mainly makes an overview of Yi’s research and situation from literature collation, life research, work study and reference book description over the last 100 years, and simply illustrates the cause and research value of this topic. On the basis of the existing results, chapter one makes generalizations of Yi’s life, writings and social intercourse to reach the writing purpose of understanding human beings and commenting on human affairs. Chapter two briefly analyzes Yi’s status and effect in the late Tang Dynasty Poetry, and focuses on summarizing Yi’s literary maintenance for verse and classical Chinese poem. Chapter three mainly concentrates on explaining poetries of Yi Shunding. Since poetry is the highlight of Yi’s literary creations, this chapter is also the most important accordingly. The poetry theme types include the tour poems, poems of praising material objects, political and patriotic poems, responding and presenting poems, history-nostalgia poems, wall painting poems, and actor praising poems of Yi. Meanwhile, this chapter also makes a brief analysis of his unpredictability, infinite, emotions in scene and integration scenario, as well as the unique “crying” condition, deep meaning, straight ingenuity, natural fresh, various methods and diversified forms, so as to show readers of Yi’s different styles of poems. Chapter four is the brief analysis of Yi’s Ci. Firstly, the chapter makes discussions about the Ci of scenery, object-praising, travelling, recalling-antiquity, responding and parting, and painting. Then, there is a brief talk about art characteristics of graceful and dense, pure and gorgeous, sorrow with profound implication, flexible words, as well as expressions and feelings. Chapter five is research related to Yi Shunding’s writings, which is mainly from the subject matter that indicates poetry, parallel prose, direct prose, biography, memorial to the throne, manuscripts and other forms. Moreover, writings of Yi are combination of force with mercy skilled in remark with diversified styles. The language is flexible with sincere emotions and clear love and hate. In the conclusion, the paper mainly summarizes the status and influence of Yi Shunding in the history of modern Chinese literature.
