Erhu concerto is a product of the fusion of Chinese and western musical cultures,as well as one of the most common music forms. Since the founding of new China,Erhu concerto has been developing fast. As per Mr. Liu Tianhua, "The reason for me to learn western music is to sort Chinese music in an even better way in the future. " Mr. Wu Bochao, a student of Mr. Liu Tianhua, had combined western composition skills with Chinese traditional melodies, and created Erhu concerto named "Qiu Gan" which was a breakthrough of Erhu music with piano accompaniment. Afterwards, a plenty of outstanding Erhu concertos had emerged with favorable responses from the society. For example, "Yu Bei Xu Shi Qu", "San Men Xia Chan Xiang Qu", "Hong Mei Sui Xiang Qu", "Zhu Yun" and "Qiu Yun". Start from the 20 th century, Chinese traditional musical culture has been shining during the development of diversified cultures in China, and formed lasting appeal along with the development of the times.Erhu concertos is a product originated from such cultural deposits and the age surroundings. Erhu concerto "Zhu Yun" is a work of renowned composer Wu Houyuan, which combines Chinese traditional musical elements and western composition techniques, and utilizes various erhu techniques such as vibrato, staccato,“Kuai Ya Rou” and trill, for vividly reproducing the bamboos in thousands of postures when facing the stormy weather, and highlighting their merit that never yield to harsh environment. This paper is divided into three parts. Part one gives a brief introduction for the current situation of development of Erhu concertos. Part two focuses on analysis of the music in musical structure, theme and sound. Part three analyzes the performance techniques.
