Translation of Chinese traditional culture has become increasingly popular and attractive recently when we are advocating that the Chinese culture should be delivered outside.Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM),as the essence of our culture, has always received people's attention.Particularly, nowadays with people's more concern about Yangsheng(Cultivation of Health),TCM has caught more and more westerners' eyes. They are showing great interest in it and are eager to know more about it.Based on this, this paper chooses Huang Di neijing as the sample to study, because the masterpiece signifies popularity and vitality of Chinese culture.Undoubtedly, the translation of Huang Di neijing turns out to be a key bridge to disseminate culture.Until now there have been 12 translated versions that are being studied by many translators.Among the 12 versions,I choose ones by Li Zhaoguo and Ilza Veith, because the two versions prevail so much at the time and are symbolic. Moreover, they differ a lot on the content and language style, and these differences are greatly given rise to by translator's subjectivity. With the focus of translation studies to cultural orientation, translator's subjectivity has become a hot topic in the translation study field and received much concern from researchers.Translator is playing a crucial role in translation.Anthony Pym regards that translated versions are different because of the translator's subjectivity that is largely affected by the four factors, namely, the social causations, the translators, intercultural belonging and concern with the present. The paper, from the perspective of translator's subjectivity, contrasts and compares Yangsheng parts of Li's and Veith's versions so as to display their features and then studies how translator's subjectivity influences the translations. And finally,I propose four suggestions(nationalism, creativity, harmony and convention),expecting to make contributions to the translation of TCM works.By this way,we can perform better on bringing Chinese traditional culture outside and do as Xi Jinping, the president of China has initiated on the 18 th CPC National Congress—“introduce China's stories and convey China's voice well”.
