The Study Of Local-color Narration In Yingzhen Chen's Noverls

Yingzhen Chen is one of the famous local literature novelists in the field of China modern and contemporary literature. No matter whether he is a writer, a literary critic, a thinker, or a politician, Chen always is an important representative in Taiwan literary circle. In this paper, we mainly focused on the research of Chen's narrative novels and introduce their themes, narrative strategies, and causes. We also tried to explain the intrinsic ideological intension and social significance of his novels.This paper has three sections, including introduction, body text, and conclusion. In the introduction section, we briefly introduced Yingzhen Chen and his literary creations as well as their research advances to give the significance of this selected topic and method of this research. The body text is divided into three parts. The first part is about the theme of Chen's novels. We propose that main themes in Chen's novels are the life state, complex homesickness, and national consciousness of people who at the social bottom, expressing his deeply national spirit. The second part is about the features of Chen's local narration in artistry aspect, indicating that his novels inherited the narrative style of poetry and thinking in Chinese traditional literature as well as the influence of western modern art skills. The third part is about the formation reason of Chen's local narrative novels. We analyzed the personal mettle and local literary views of Chen as well as the influence of great writers, such as Lu Xun, that contributed to Chen's local narrative novels. In the conclusion section, a brief review of the paper is carried out to evaluate Chen's local-color literature.To sum up, in this paper, we tried to combine the basis of Chen's novels with a theory research method of comprehensive application of narratology, psychology, image-system, and so on. So, we can explore the rich ideological content, artistic characteristics and social historical value of local-color novels. Chen's novels and literature theory are the important part of Taiwan literature, meanwhile, they also have certainly influence on the literary creation of the mainland and even the Third Word.
