Alongside with the continuous development of the relationship between Chile and China,the number of people interested in Chinese language has also considerably increased.In Chile,at the moment of choosing where to study Chinese,Chilean people?s first choice is Confucius Institute at Santo Tomas University.Its development has been fast,and more Confucius Institute centers have been opened in different cities.Currently,there are 13 Confucius Institute centers at Santo Tomás University in Chile and the target in this paper is the head office located in Vi?a del Mar,specifically the intermediate comprehensive Chinese class.The main subject in the Confucius Institute at Santo Tomás University is Chinese comprehensive lesson.The author of this paper was a student of this institute once and carried out the internship there as well.During that period of time and after carrying out a questionnaire,interview with some students and class observation,the author realized that the teaching design was not as expected and due to this the students? Chinese level had not met the institute?s expectation,so the author of this paper having the Chinese curriculum design theories as basis and also based on the students' characteristics and studying background designed a lesson plan for the unit 11 from the book Chino Contemporáneo(Contemporaneous Chinese,Spanish edition)“When did they arrive?” as an example?This lesson plan is divided into three teaching hours,in the first one the new words are explained,in the second one the grammar point“????”is explained through a video,in the third one,the grammar points“??”and“??”are explained and to summarize the contents in this unit it includes a homework in which students need to use the new words and grammar points to create a short essay.When designing this lesson plan,the author paid attention in choosing a suitable classroom,arranging the chairs and tables,and preparing the multimedia to use,the author used the direct,functional,reading,audio-visuals,display among other teaching methods,and carried out different class activities and exercises.By putting in practice this lesson plan,the author realized the student attending this class improved their initiative,the proportion of correct answers when doing exercises and activities improved,and the students'confidence was strengthen.During the process of putting in practice this lesson plan,there definitely are some inconveniences such as not being able to use Chinese language during the whole teaching process,not having designed diverse class activities and not arranging in a reasonable way the time and contents.Some because the lesson plan design itself is not good enough,some because the author's teaching experience is not abundant.
