Graded reading in countries such as Britain and the United States has been matured and developed. A large number of graded readers also have been published. It makes tremendous contributions to teaching English as a second language. But it was really late for grade reading to be introduced to China. Using gradein teaching Chinese as a second language is also in recent years.There are few graded readers of Chinese as a second language. Children's graded readers of Chinese as a second language are even less. This article will study on the publishing the children's graded reading of Chinese as a second language—The Chinese Library Series. This paper will make a contrastion between Usborne First Reading published in Britain and The Chinese Library Series. It will also analyses advantages and disadvantages of The Chinese Library Series. And putting forward Suggestions for children's graded readers of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.This paper is divided into five parts. Chapter one is the introduction part, mainly stating the concept and standard of graded reading, the object, methods, purpose and meaning of the research. Chapter two is the research review, mainly stating the research situation of graded reading at home and abroad. Chapter three makes a simple introduction of The Chinese Library Series and Usborne First Reading.Chapter four is the main part of the paper. It makes comparison and analysis on the two grades readers in the subject, vocabulary, space growth degree and exercises.Through these four aspects of the contrast, It will find out the deficiency of children's grade reading of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Chapter five, on the basis of comparative analysis, some suggestions will give to children's grade reading ofteaching Chinese as a foreign language in the subject, vocabulary, space growth degree and exercises. It also designs a set of exercises for The Chinese Library Series.
