Li Qiang is one of the most influential screenwriters in Chinese filmdom in recent years. The movies, which is made according to his scripts, has been awarded some prizes both at home and abroad. He has also won several screenplay awards, playing an increasingly important role in Chinese filmdom. His works have an individual style, showing the potential of “the screenwriter as the author”, which is a rare phenomenon in screenwriting. The thesis analyses scripts of Li Qiang' film literature in the view of authorship, trying to summarize the steady aesthetic characteristics in his scripts, and estimate the artistic value of his creation.The main body of this thesis is divided into four parts, by using the method of both cultural analysis and text analysis, to research screenplays of film literature, which are written by Li Qiang.The first chapter is the part of introduction. To begin with, it introduces Li Qiang and his writing history, then sketches the research status about movies and texts, which is based on his literary scripts. And on this basis, it describes the values, style and artistic technique throughout his scripts. The last of this part points out the research methods, perspective and documentation, which is needed by the thesis.The second chapter interpretates screenplays of Li Qiang in the context of existential philosophy of Heidegger, to exploit its profound thoughts. He concerns about the status of individual survival, especially their vitality shows the width and depth of life in social environment. And he identifies with the equality and freedom of individual, caring beings with compassion. In this sense, his concept about individual, which is reflected in his works, is similar with Heidegger's concept of Dasein.The third chapter reads Li Qiang's scripts from the perspective of feminism, to analyze his unconscious standpoint of feminism. His texts have more female protagonists, showing their life experience, and shapes different female images. These women have their own temperaments, and try to pursuit individual value. Thus, Female images in his works show a strong sense of self value, which is different from the image of “a good wife and a loving mother” in patriarchal society.The fourth chapter studies narrative aesthetics in Li Qiang's script texts. This part focuses on modern narrative mode and techniques in his works, by using the method of structuralism and narratology, to reveal a powerful artistic creativity and inspiration.Studying Li Qiang's literary scripts, and summarizing his creative experience, is an important way to understand the artistic value of his works. Furthermore, from the perspective of screenwriting, it also gives a reflection on movie industry. Through his distinctive writing style, Li Qiang has won the recognition and respect of insiders, and achieved success not only in artistic field but commercial field. So in this case, we can learn that it is possible that “an Author as the scriptwriter”, meanwhile, it has a great value on movie creation.
