The Study On The Modern Chinese Female Words

This thesis is based on the “Modern C hinese Dictionary(the sixth edition) ”, combined with other resource this thesis has made a exhaustive searching on the Female vocabulary of modern C hinese and divided them as 5categories:Appearances, Natures, Behaviors, Appellations, Physical characteristics and Exclusive domain & property. By analyzing female vocabulary lexical features of each category under the view of historical evolution, the feature of modern C hinese female vocabulary shall be learnt.This thesis has 5 chapters. Chapter one concludes abstract, catalog and introduction. C hapter two is a general picture and classification test of modern Chinese female words, furthermore, the lexical features of appearances, behaviors and social appellations has been analysed in this chapter. This chapter also bought two specific words “mei(美)” and ”jiao(娇)” as the individual cases to give a brief of the features of Appearance words, which has been divided as positive, negative, neutral. C hapter three was to analyses a positive word ”shu(淑)” and a negative word “po(泼)” in order to get features of Natures words. Chapter four made a list of those unmarked morphemes and words in “Modern C hinese Dictionary(the sixth edition)”.C hapter five is the conclusion, features of past three chapters was gathered and made as a brief form of modern Chinese lexical features. The study has point out that lexical features as a stabled system have suffered little affection of semantic changing from certain word, and furthermore, the campile of dictionary and practical inguistics in realality will benefit from it.
