The 21 st century is the era of knowledge and information, with the society increasingly competitive and the social pressure also increasing, more and more people are suffering from psychological problems. While as a special group, rural middle school students are not only influenced by environmental and geographical constraints, thus can not receive relatively higher quality education and better mental training as students in cities, and meanwhile they are growing up in a conflict of physical and psychological development, combined with enormous academic pressure, so if not handled properly themselves, it is easy to lead to social maladjustment and psychological problems. Thus, mental health and social adaptation of rural middle school students is particularly important, to address these issues will not only improve rural middle school students' self-growth, but also can provide a reliable way for the realization of mental health of rural middle school students.This current study selected 680 rural middle school students from 8 regions of Hebei Province as representatives, we combined the Interpersonal Trust Scale, the Loneliness Scale, the Life Satisfaction Scale and personal circumstances in a questionnaire for test, and 639 valid questionnaires were collected. Our study is committed to start from three specific angles, namely interpersonal trust, loneliness and life satisfaction, to make clear part of the psychological problems of rural middle school students, to explore the internal relations between angles, and propose a practical view to improve the mental health of rural middle school students. Finally we got the following ideas:(1) The demographic variables of rural middle school students, such as economic conditions, affected interpersonal trust, loneliness and life satisfaction. In specific: Grades, family structure and monthly family income influenced interpersonal trust scores of rural middle school students; Loneliness scores of rural middle school students exhibited significant differences in grades, whether students have sisters or brothers, parents' work status and monthly family income; and life satisfaction scores seemed to depend on grades, household types, means to get to school, parents' work status, whether students have sisters or brothers and monthly family income.(2) Interpersonal trust of rural middle school students can negatively predict loneliness while positively predict life satisfaction.(3) Loneliness of rural middle school students can negatively predict life satisfaction.(4) Loneliness is a partial mediator between interpersonal trust and life satisfaction.
