In this article, the 455 left-behind students in Junior High School, who are living in the rural areas of Wuhu city Anhui province, were taken as the object. Questionnaire and Case Study were used with Mental Health Test (MHT), Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS) and Chinese Adolescent Life Satisfaction to analysis and understand the three aspects of the rural left-behind students in Junior High School: mental health, social support and life satisfaction, and to explore the predictive role of social support and life satisfaction toward the mental health. Combined with the using of Case Study Method to further explore the way to improve the mental health and offer a new research perspective.Study results:1. Mental health of the rural left-behind students in Junior High School as a whole was at a normal level, and the rate of mental disorder in the sample was 16.7%. As for genders and whether Only Child or not, students' mental health showed significant differences: The mental health of boys is better than the girls', so it is the case for Only Child's to Non Only Child's. There were no significant differences between students of different grades.2. The social support for the rural left-behind students in Junior High School was also at a lover level.3. Life satisfaction of the rural left-behind students in Junior High School was at mean score.4. The mental health was respectively correlated with social support and social satisfaction greatly.5. By the stepwise regression analysis, it was found out that subjective support and the degree of it's usage would affect the mental health by affecting the whole level of social support. Friends satisfaction, freedom satisfaction, school satisfaction and environment satisfaction, which are parts of life satisfaction, would affect life satisfaction first, then affect the level of the mental health.6. Social support could affect the mental health directly, or by means of affecting life satisfaction. At the end of the article, it offers some suggestions as for how to improve the mental health on the bases of the results of Quantitative research and Case Study.
