The world history research in China was beginning from the early 20 th century. The system of world history subject in our country began to build was in the middle of the 20 th century.On the basis of the establishment of the system of world history subject,the world history major also costs half a century,to get the attention of they deserve and promoted to first-grade discipline.In the development of world history research and development of the world history subject system,we can not forget the hard work of the first group of scholars in the construction of the discipline,like as Lei haizong?Yang renpan?Zhou gucheng.So, for the academic consciousness, it is necessary to observe the related activities of these people who study world history,to make appropriate evaluation according to those activities. This article selects Zhou gucheng as the research object,focus on his The General History of the World, use four Chapters to review the world history research of Zhou gucheng.The first chapter, "An overview of the world history research activities of Zhou gucheng",follow the background,form Three phases summarized the world history research activities of Zhou gucheng all of his life,and discussed the relationship between the Zhou gucheng's academic activities and political reality,reached the holistic view about the world history research activities of Zhou gucheng.The second chapter, "Zhou gucheng's world history study and world history teaching",form world history study and world history teaching two parts,to discusse their results and contents.On the basis of those results and contents to reach the features and characteristics about Zhou gucheng's world history teaching,pointed out the effection of Zhou gucheng in the establishment and development of Chinese world history discipline system.The third chapter, "Compiling feature and effection about Zhou gucheng's The General History of the World",discussed it's compiling feature,by comparing with others history works,obtain the achievements of his works.Through the discussion of the three chapters, trying to sort out the historical facts about Zhou gucheng's world history research,and then point out it has an important role of Zhougucheng world history research activities which to promote the world history study in China.
