Tie Bao, the Man nationality, is a great calligrapher in ancient Chiina during Qianlong and Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty. His magnificent eminence and high prestige are highly esteemed by people of his time. He is one of the four great calligraphers of the Qing period and enjoys the top position in the Eight-Flag society. Tie Bao is a calligrapher, a poet and an anthologist, who collects 28 calligraphers' works into Celebrity Copybook and poems written by bannermen into Xi Zhao Poetry Anthology.This article attempts at a tentative exploration into Tie Bao's calligraphic style. The first section introduces the reasons for writing and research methods of this article. The second section tells about Tie Bao's life, writings as well as the transiton of his family from a distinguished warlord to literary family. This part illustrates the primary cause of Tie Bao's specific calligraphy thinking. The third section sets forth the basis of his calligraphy thinking and aesthetic conception, which includes Tie Bao's conception of “Shi Gu” and the real temperament and harmonious thinking in poetry and calligraphy as well as the to the people-oriented philosophy through the study of Celebrity Copybook. The last section analyses Tie's disciples, skills and characteristics. This part focuses on the breakthrough of “Secretariat style” and the inheritance from Wang Xizhi and Liu Gongquan from the field of handwriting and kinesics. It also discusses the calligraphy structure, presentation and ink technique to reflect his artistic style.Tie Bao Calligraphy almost no reference to the information.Through the above conclusions are as follows: First,Tie Bao ideology advocating the ancient calligraphy, but not blindly imitate ancient times.He pay attention to people's character and calligraphy combine to emphasize the expression of the real you; Second, He mainly the use of pen side front, also supplemented with a twisted turn stroke; Third, the structure of calligraphy is some centers empty, some positive, some inclination; four, His calligraphy style is characterized by thick and powerful, coherent.
