The presence of Mainland China, Hong Kong, England make Hong Kong, which has a colonial history of 150 years, possess a multiple and complex identity. As an imagined community, Hong Kong films reflects the variation of Hong Kong society and Hong Kong identity. Hong Kong form a Hong Kong consciousness in the 1970 s after a long term journey of self-discover. Based on important economic and social events, this study select Hong Kong films for 45 years between 1970-2015 and four parts will be paragraphed: 1970-1983, 1984-1994, 1994-2004, 2005-2015. Only by this way can we explore the Hong Kong identity. It concludes Hong Kong people's image, identities,urban landscapes, national construction, discourse system and so on. Through studying on the variation of cultural identity of Hong Kong for many years, finding the transformation of genre and style, image references in Hong Kong films, we can figure out Hong Kong identity how to express emotion and expectation. With this process, a further understanding of art dilemma and commercial selection that Hong Kong films encountered would be made.It is found that: Hong Kong identity in Hong Kong films have been a circuitous journey, which from preliminary establishment to overall establishment, and from perplexed symbiotic relationship to clever confrontation and negotiate with Greater China consciousness, then accept each other. The all changes have direct relationship with social unrest, the stimulation of economic interests and cultural factors. These change embodied in: people's images, local space, values, narrative mechanism, etc.And such a shift is due to: the vast film market in mainland, benefit film policies,cultural communication of the three geographic areas, the relationship between the mainland and Hong Kong SAR. It's high time to respect Hong Kong SAR indentity and Great China's mainland consciousness in globalization context. In conclusion, Chinese identity always the strong basis of Hong Kong SAR identity. Great China's mainland consciousness and Hong Kong SAR consciousness will mix together and bring a bright future for Chinese-language cinema.
