The dictionary continues to be seen as an instrument designed to provide quick and superficial support in the case of language learning and acquisition. In all societies, users want similar dictionaries because they need them to solve similar everyday problems of communication, and also for more obscure reasons, because everywhere dictionaries are much more than linguistic tool: they are emblems of learning, symbols of social success. As a powerful tool for language study, a dictionary is more than merely a grammar book or word list. In order to exert the function of grammar study, it is quite necessary for a dictionary to provide various grammatical information of the entry-word or the equivalents. From the traditional point of view, dictionary compilers and publishers are the dominant participants in the process of dictionary compilation, whose interests and preferences can be expressed exhaustively, leaving the interest and needs of the most direct and frequent participants of the dictionary--- dictionary users ignored. To study lexicography from the communicative perspective, three interrelated participants---the context, the compiler and the user are placed in a dynamic and interactive network. This thesis tries to verify that the grammatical information dictionaries provide are scientifically arranged concerning the interests of the dictionaries readers.Appropriately, a high value of grammatical information treatment from the communicative perspective is placed in this thesis, on the basis of the study of Oxford Advanced Learners' English-Chinese Dictionary, the 7thedition, for the benefit of casting some light on the treatment of grammatical information in learners' bilingual dictionaries. Some conclusions are drawn through the study of OALECD 7th, this bilingual dictionary involves relatively completed grammatical information that complies with the requirements mentioned in this thesis, the treatment of which accords with a communicative approach.
