A Study On The Chengdu Chapter Of The Youth China Association

In order to disseminate democracy and Science and object to the feudal trend of thought,the intellectuals organized a group of young students to form a group of academic associations in the period of May4th Movement and New Culture Movement.These academic associations took the national destiny as their own responsibility,studied academics and truth and devoted themselves to the patriotic and democratic movement.Their behavior greatly expanded the range of the New Cultural Movement and promoted the spread and development of modern academic knowledge.The Youth China Association is one of the most important associations in the period of May4th Movement and has three chapters.Because of unique status of Chengdu Chapter,it plays an important role in the development of the Youth China Association.It is not only a hub of New culture into Sichuan and its local practice,but also becomes "young Chinese doctrine" firm practitioner and guardian.This paper is divided into six parts:The first part is an introduction.It is simply retrospects of current situation research on the Chengdu Chapter of the Youth China Association and States the purpose,methods and significance of this research.The second part is a summary of the Chengdu Chapter of the Youth China Association in the whole,including the establishment process of the Chengdu Chapter,the main business,and the relationship between it and Association and the other chapters.The third part takes the official publication of the Chengdu Chapter of the Youth China Association,"Sunday",as the entry point,discusses the relationship between the new culture movement in Sichuan and it.On the one hand,the part discusses the special role of "Sunday" in the process of taking the new culture into Sichuan,on the other hand,the part analyses its unique historical contribution to the construction of the new cultural region of Sichuan.The fourth part further elaborates the relationship between Wang Guangqi,the founder of the Youth China Association,and his "young Chinese doctrine" and the Chengdu Chapter,proves the influence to Chengdu Chapter’s meetings and members’ thought from Wang Guangqi and his"young Chinese doctrine" and clarifies Chengdu Chapter how to effectively practice the "young Chinese doctrine" in the period of May4th Movement and New Culture Movement.The fifth part discusses how to adhere to the dream of Youth China and continues to practice the "young Chinese doctrine" By analyzing the later activities of the Chengdu Chapter of the Youth China Association.The sixth part is the conclusion.It discusses the achievements of the Chengdu Chapter of the Youth China Association in general and reviews its special status in the process of modem culture development in Sichuan.
