The Research On The "Xiaoya·Caiwei" Of The Book Of Songs

CaiWei is one poetry of Lesser Odes,which is a part of The Book of Songs.This poetry described the war which was against the aggression of XianYun,in the period of the resurgence of King Xuan of the Western Zhou Dynasty.CaiWei is always explained with poetries of ChuChe and DiDu as a set of poems.Based on researching in more than 200 works of the study of the Book of Songs,espacially interpretations of Caiwei from Han Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty,this thesis start from the textual research of the time of creation,the author,and the theme of CaiWei;and to further research on the keynote of poetry and its evolution.When it comes to the creation time,many scholars throughout history pointed out majoy opinions about the creation times of the periods of King Wen,King Xuan,King yi and JiLi and ZhouGong.The focus of the issue is that CaiWei was created in the period of King Wen or King Xuan.According to historical records and unearthed literature,it can determine that Caiwei was created in the period of KingXuan.When it comes to the author of this poetry,the opinion that soldiers writed Caiwei may be the actual situation.However,in order to highlight the purpose of poetry,the most ancients scholars agreed that Caiwei was the poetry writed by the monarch who represented soldiers to express their views.This idea directly influenced the explanation of the scentence——No one knows our sadness.For the theme of Caiwei,the situation is the same.The Book of Songs is not only the the first anthology of verse,but also is the Classic.Researching the Classic significances of The Book of Songs is important to the whole research of The Book of Songs.The research on the formation and development of Caiwei is the core of this thesis.From MaoShi to MaoShiZhengYi,the purport has been determined,which was that the monarch sent troops on time and understood and sympathized with soldiers.Based on this purport,later scholars constantly enriched the connotation of Caiwei with changes of Chinese society and transformation of Classic researchs.In this paper,we should especially emphasize that JingShiZhiYong influenced the understanding of the purport of Caiwei in Qing Dynasty.After the middle of the Qing Dynasty,the rise of New Text Confucianism brought about a new change to the interpretation of the purport of Caiwei.
